ClipSwipe

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026

ClipSwipe ("ClipSwipe", "we", "us", or "our") is operated by Marius Eikenes, based in Norway. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information when you use clipswipe.tv or any related service (the "Service").

1. Who We Are

ClipSwipe is currently operated by an individual (not yet a registered company). If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, you can contact us at hello@mariuseikenes.com.

2. What the Service Does

ClipSwipe lets Twitch streamers browse their recent clips and "swipe" on them. Swiping right queues a clip for automated processing (cropping the facecam, burning in auto-generated subtitles) and uploading the result to the streamer's own YouTube channel as a YouTube Short. Swiping left simply skips the clip and nothing further happens to it.

3. Information We Collect

a) Twitch Account Data

When you log in with Twitch, we use OAuth with the channel:manage:clips scope. This allows us to read your recent clips and their metadata (clip ID, title, thumbnail, and video URL) on your behalf. We do not receive your Twitch password.

b) YouTube / Google Account Data

To upload processed clips to your own YouTube channel, we use Google OAuth with the following scopes:

  • youtube.upload — to upload the processed video to your channel.
  • youtube.readonly — to read basic channel/video information needed for the upload flow.
  • youtube — to manage the uploaded video (e.g., setting title/description) as part of the upload process.

All uploads go directly to your own YouTube account. We never upload to a ClipSwipe-owned channel, and we do not use these scopes to read, modify, or delete any of your other YouTube content.

c) Clip and Video Content

When you swipe right on a clip, we temporarily download the source video from Twitch to our processing servers in order to crop it, burn in subtitles, and prepare it for upload. This temporary video file is deleted immediately after the processed video is successfully uploaded to your YouTube channel. We do not keep a copy of the video itself afterward.

After processing, we permanently store only:

  • The original Twitch clip ID
  • The resulting YouTube video URL
  • The Twitch clip title

This minimal record lets us show you a history of what you've already processed and avoid duplicate uploads.

d) Subtitle Generation

To generate subtitles, the audio from your clip is sent to AssemblyAI, a third-party transcription service, for processing. AssemblyAI processes this audio solely to return a transcript to us and does not use it for any other purpose under our agreement with them. See AssemblyAI's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle data.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To authenticate you via Twitch and Google.
  • To fetch and display your recent Twitch clips.
  • To process clips you approve (cropping, subtitle burn-in) and upload the result to your YouTube channel.
  • To keep a record of previously processed clips so you don't see or re-process the same clip twice.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Service, and to respond to support requests.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing purposes. We currently do not use any analytics or tracking cookies.

5. Where Processing Happens

Video cropping and subtitle burn-in are performed on our own servers. The only third-party subprocessor involved in clip content is AssemblyAI (for transcription). Authentication and video hosting/upload rely on Twitch's and Google's respective platforms.

6. Data Retention

  • Temporary video files: deleted immediately after successful upload to YouTube (or discarded on failure).
  • Clip metadata (Twitch clip ID, YouTube URL, clip title): retained indefinitely as part of your account history, until you request deletion or delete your account.
  • OAuth tokens: stored securely and only for as long as needed to operate the Service on your behalf. You can revoke access at any time (see Section 8).

7. Data Sharing

We share data only with:

  • Twitch — to authenticate you and fetch clip data.
  • Google/YouTube — to upload processed videos to your own channel.
  • AssemblyAI — to generate subtitles from clip audio.

We do not otherwise sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.

8. Your Rights and Choices

  • You can revoke ClipSwipe's access to your Twitch account at any time via Twitch connection settings.
  • You can revoke ClipSwipe's access to your Google account at any time via Google account permissions.
  • You may request deletion of your stored metadata (clip IDs, YouTube URLs, titles, and account data) by emailing hello@mariuseikenes.com. We will process such requests within a reasonable time.
  • If you are located in the EU/EEA (including Norway), you have rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (Datatilsynet in Norway).

9. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including using secure connections (HTTPS), storing OAuth tokens securely, and deleting temporary video files as soon as processing is complete. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children. Twitch requires users to be at least 13 years old, and our Service is only intended for use by individuals who meet the minimum age requirements of Twitch and YouTube in their respective jurisdictions. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
